New toy
It's not finalized but probably getting this soon. An '05 Honda for $2500. Splitting the cost with my brother in law who only visist about 2 weeks a year. He wants one while he is here on vacation and i've been looking at getting one for a while. I took it for a test run and the thing is fast.

Very nice. R12 or R12x? You stole that thing! I had a pair of F12x's with a good amount of mods and they were a blast. You will enjoy it for sure

Re: New toy
Its an R12 naturally aspirated. Getting it from a friend who got it at a good price and he's giving be a better price. I think he just wants someone else to ride with.DRock wrote:Very nice. Re: New toy
Nice, I had a Kawasaki a while back...they're lots of fun but your body takes a beating. Good luck if you pull the trigger.

Really nice looking bike. I have a 2 year old Waverunner VX Cruiser, and it's one of the slowest machines on the market @ 54mph. It's plenty fast enough for me.
I also have a 1990 SeaDoo that still runs. My only problem was having to build a lean to on the side of my boathouse to hold the Waverunner.
I've had PWC's since 1985, and use them to do my nosing around the lake by myself (touring.) At 10 mpg, we can afford to run them.

Thanks, my legs were sore for a couple days after only the test run. I figure i'll start easy and build up to longer trips. My friend is part of a club that takes long multi-day trips.

Re: New toy
Yea even the 'slow' ones are crazy fast. I got this one up to 60mph on the test run. It was a smooth as glass lake. My friends SeaDoo RXP is modified to hit up to about 74mph. He let me ride it and I got to about 69mph. I don't plan on going that fast normally.Bamaman wrote:Really nice looking bike. They're like a motorcycle, as soon as you start feeling too comfortable they'll bite you. I had had mine for a while and went for a ride one afternoon after a storm and the lake was glass as well. I was riding alone, my wife hadn't gotten off work yet. Apparently i thought i had larger than normal kahunas that day and while i wasn't at WOT, but i was going 60 or so and turned pretty hard left. When it dumped(ejected) me i had no idea of what had just happened. Life jacket and lanyard saved me for sure.Ron Burgundy wrote:Yea even the 'slow' ones are crazy fast. Similar thing happened to my friend. Caught a wave wrong and the ski turned sharply, he kept going straight. Almost broke a rib and said he nearly lost consciousness in the water. The life vest and kill switch lanyard probably saved him. He still ended up a fair distance from his ski but was able to swim back to it.
