South Bay fish finder question

#1 Post by Renegade » Fri Aug 02, 2013 5:13 pm

My new 2014 South Bay 522cre just showed up and I want to add an in-dash fish finder. I didn't take the factory installed one as it was a lot more high end then what I need and didn't want to pay the $900 for it. Anyways, does anybody here know what my options are to install one in the factory spot that looks like its meant to cut out? ie) correct size?

what model was the factory installed one?
that may be the best place to start, by finding similar ones

Renegade,

My 2012 South Bay has a Hummingbird 385ci GPS/Depthfinder/fishfinder mounted in dash from factory. I googled the owners manual for it which I think included dimensions for installation.

I probably would have not got that nice a unit either had it not been installed, but I really like the clean installation and the features.

Have you posted pics of the 2014 yet - would love to see them to compare to my 2012.

Thanks!

Brad

Thanks for the help guys!
I'll post pictures when I get it next week. I'm pretty excited to see it as it is a brand new model and all I had to order it from was a factory drawing.

Looking forward to seeing photos - dropped by dealer last weekend to order a couple things, they had a 2014 CR and the version with the loungers in back - damned memory loss on what the letters were. They were sweet! Don't think you can go wrong with a South Bay!

Having gone through the same as you exactly one year ago, I know your feelings. All the dealer had on the 2013 South Bay models last August was pictures and brochures he brought back from his factory visit. Have to say we are delighted with our 2013 522CR TT with the 150 HP Yamaha outboard. Good luck with your new South Bay.
