Boat Values

#1 Post by BigBoyKY » Thu Aug 08, 2013 10:21 am

Sorry if this has been asked before but I searched and couldn't find the answer.
I found a couple boats tha I'm interested in. One inparticular is a 2006 22' Crest II LE with a 115 Merc, 2 year old trailer, changing room, stereo, full cover. The NADA has this listed average retail of just under 10K. This doesn't sound right to me. Is this just the boat or does that include trailer and motor. I'm sure this isn't the true value.... Any insight or better places to look?

Usually, the NADA guide will give you three prices, Suggested List ,Average Retail & Low Retail and whether it includes the motor and/or trailer. The boat I looked up did not include either, so you have to go to their section on motors and look that up.

It depends which ad you are reading. On EBay they sell a lot of boats without the trailer and when you research trailers the same guys sell them for that boat. They make more money by splitting it up. It makes the boat price seem a lot lower that way.

So if I look up the values of each then the asking price is a couple grand lower than the guides value. Dang this isn't fun.

When I looked up my boat on NADA it did not include motor and trailer. I had to look them up seperatly.

Usually any boat with an outboard, you have to value the motor separate on NADA
