Don't agree. We parked next to a guy that has a ski boat / wake board boat with 6 big batteries, 4 amps totaling 8000 watts and the smoothest sounding system I've ever heard. He played it during breaks at a Kevin Fowler concert we were at last summer. He also had a Lucite lighted stripper pole that attracted many crazy women. It was a hoot.

I'm sure if I was floating in a quiet cove somewhere and he came in blaring gangster rap, I would have had a problem.

This is funny stuff. :lol3 I ALREADY DID IT! :rofl
Being a musician (hey Darin), I typically have large stereos in general. When I built Al, I didn't scrimp. Probably the largest on my lake. Fortunately my lake is huge. When I am miles off shore and just passing through, I most certainly will bump it. I am sure it is still audible from the cabins, but this is when I'm moving and not late at night. No single person is subjected to my music for more than a song or two.
Party cove is a different matter. My competition sub is virtually off and the mid highs are kept on low. Total respect for the boats AND the landowners. Earlier this year, in pulls one of those wakeboard boats with speakers bristling from the towers. Bump bump goes the nasty tunes with f this and f that. I could see a family anchored not too far away getting pretty ajitated. Although I couldn't talk to them, I signaled that I was gonna do something about it. Although not quite 360 degrees, I do have coverage for maybe 270.
Aaaand what do I play? SLIM WHITMAN. Not much bass, but it didn't matter. We just put the earplugs in and cranked the crap out of it. That piercing yodel rode right on top of the rap. Since I was facing the ski boat, they figured they could just re-anchor (I give them credit for trying) but there was no escaping it. I left it on the same song too. Hey, if it is enough to explode a Martian head, I figue those punks would be easy pickin's :biggrin2
After about 4 times through, they gave me the finger and left :happy :rofl
The guy on the family boat gave me two thumbs up, I turned the tunes down, and we all proceeded to have a nice afternoon.

The problem is that we are slowly becoming too stupid as a society to gather in large groups. We (as a society) no longer have the intelligence or interpersonal skills to get along peacefully, or even the basic self-awareness to conduct ourselves in a civil manner.

It is the movie "Idiocracy" unfolding in front of you. It is truly an intelligence deficiency and it is rampant throughout our society. It is sad, but I think it is true. It is primarily poor parenting or lack of parenting that has caused it over the last few decades. It's a snowball. The vary people with the inability to demonstrate even the most basic level of intelligence are the vary people who will raise (OK, not really raise, but merely produce) the next generation. On and on it goes.

Good luck turning that around! I don't think we can do it. I truly hope I'm wrong, though. Please tell me I'm wrong!!!!

That is funny. As I said earlier, I don't even have a stereo on the punetoon and probably wont and I need my PA gear for my shows so I would never risk water damage just to irritate someone (I have other ways to irritate people) but it would be fun.

You funny girl Katie. You too Darin.
This guy with the massive stereo is feeling pretty inadequate at this moment
