Turbo Pontoon1 14x15 prop

I am thinking about trying this prop out on my Yamaha 115 and 24ft twin tube pontoon boat. My current prop is the first I tried since buying the new engine, an Aluminum 13 5/8 x 14 from Yamaha. I still have throttle left after reaching 5800 rpms. Anyone run this prop on there 115hp outboard?

Does Turbo make Yamaha's pontoon series of props? I noticed they also have a prop designed specifically for pontoon boats. Any other manufactures make props that are suppose help with ventilation during turning, a common problem for twin tube pontoons?

I am guessing that a 14x15 aluminum will act differently from a 14x15 stainless steel. Which one will act "smaller"?

Your going up in pitch so it should go down 300 Rpm and give you a little more speed

What will the 3/8" increase in prop diameter do? The additional blade area will certainly lower the RPM, but I wonder by how much? I'd hate to go from too small of a prop to too big of a prop and totally miss the sweet point.

Your only jumping up and inch in pitch and your not adding that much to the Dia., so you might see a 400 RPM drop and should put you close to where you want.

Now I couldn't go to the 14 inch Dia because of my propguard, where 13.75 is the max size that will fit inside of it, to go to a 14 inch I would have to jump up to a 16 inch propguard and would lose efficiency of the propguard

Yamaha owns Turbo/Stiletto. The Yamaha "pontoon" series is the same blade profile but I'm not sure if the Yamaha prop is ported like the Pontoon 1 or No ports like the Stiletto Star. My 14x13 Pontoon 1 is actually more like a 14 pitch stainless as I can get to damn near 0% calculated prop slip with it under great conditions 6100rpm rev limiter @ 30mph with a 2.42 case is 1-2 % slip which really isn't possible If I punch it in as a 14 pitch its in the 9-10% range which kinda believable. If your looking at the 15 I'd punch a 16 into prop calculators

I had no idea there was such a thing as a prop calculator. I will confirm my speeds at various rpms and play around with it.

I see that the Stiletto line of props designed for pontoon boats has an even bigger size than what Turbo and Yamaha offers, a 14 x 17. Anyone with a 115 hp outboard running this big of a prop?

I went ahead and ordered the Stiletta Star II 14x15 prop. I was really tempted to get the 14x17 but I would hate to over shoot, especially since I will be pulling skiers.

Last weekend a lot of the family was over at the cottage so I loaded up the boat to the point of being rediculous. I was curious if I could get to full throttle before hitting 6000 rpms. Even with the boat loaded, I still could not hit WOT with the 13 5/8 x 14 aluminum Yamaha prop.

I will post my results with the Stiletta Star II 14x15 hopefully next weekend.

Apparantly Stiletto does NOT make a 14x17, for some reason boatownersworld lists one on their website even though that size does not exist. Just wanted to clarify, so as not to confuse...

The Stilettos are out of stock, so I ordered a Power Tech WBX3 14 x 15 SS prop. This is there version of a pontoon prop. I'll try it out and report back next week.

My WOT is now 5100 rpms with the Powertech WBX3 14x15 prop and that is with just me in the boat. So its true that SS is worth a pitch compared to aluminum. Plus I think the wide blade and cupped blades that are used on these pontoon boat props will also lower the RPM, thoughts? My previous prop was a std yamaha prop (13 5/8 x 14").

I will be going down 2" in pitch with the same prop design and hopefully that will make me happy enough to stop throwing money at props.

With the Powertech WBX3 14x13 I am at 5700 rpms WOT. My speed is 25 mph at 5700 rpms and 17 mph at 4000 rpms. This is with just me in the boat.

Whats interesting is that with the boat completely loaded the WOT stayed at 5700 rpms and the mph dropped to 20 mph. So I lost speed due to slippage and still maintained 5700 RPM. Most people seemed to report a drop in rpm when loaded. Thoughts?
