Brad,
Bumpus Mills Marina is just east of marker 78 on the Cumberland just south of the TN border. We went up to Pond Bay west of marker 61 as it's been one of our favorite fishing spots. No luck there on Monday so we went back down to Elbow Bay and caught a few little catfish before the storms rolled in. On the way back to Bumpus, we explored a few bays and shoals off the river. Talk about quiet...even for a holiday weekend! We got back into a bay and tossed the kids around on the tube for an hour or so without ever seeing another boat. Love that area! It's beautiful too! But at the end of day I checked my Lowrance for that days trip meter and we hit 45.6 miles.

Been very happy with my Pro XS after moving away from a 4 Stroke. It really doesn't seem that much more loud than the 4 stroke we replaced. Its a motor, its not like the difference between a sail boat and a motor, it just isn't that noticeably louder to me. I have a 200 HP and we hit 42 on a 28 foot tri-toon, gets up on plane very quick. No issues to report, it has power assist Sea Star and analog gauges. I have a 4 gallon oil tank on it, and we've filled the gas tank 5 times and I'm still 3/4 full on the oil. It isn't smokey as you would typically think of an older 2 stroke. My 2 cents.

I ended up getting the 250 Verado Pro. I wanted the 300 but the boat was only rated up to 250. I even asked about getting it re certified since both motors weigh exactly the same but that was a no go! Oh well, the 250 should push the boat just fine.

Call Simon Motorsports and they can reprogram your ecu and get you around 315 hp. I think its about 800 to do yours. You can buy a new one and swap the stocker back on for warranty but it was about 3k . Not sure how that would work either but thats what they told me . I was out of warranty anyways .

No need to, the Mercury software will not pick up the program changes, I asked Eric at SMS, he said not to worry, plus mine has been scanned 3 times since the reburn. No questions ever asked. Its worth the money, just for the fuel savings after the curves are straightened in the mapping.
