Well, I was off today, so I loaded up the pontoon and took her to Brenham to see if the mechanic can't fix my stalling issue. He's supposed to call tomorrow with the diagnosis. Hope he finds it quickly so I can hit the lake this weekend. Kinda hate having a new to me boat that's reliable enough to get you in trouble. The first time I had to walk the boat along shore about a mile to get back to the ramp. The second time, I was lucky enough to be close enough for a little swim. Sure would like to be able to get on the bigger lakes and really enjoy my boat since I am paying notes on it!

So I am hoping to hear good news shortly, painfree!

Yeah, once the motor warmed up and you shut it off, it would stall out between say 2500 and 3000 rpm's. sometime you could feather the throttle and get it past that point and sometimes it would just bog down completely acting like it was flooded. The funny thing was if you never got below 3500 rpm's it would run till the tank went dry. The mechanic thinks it's the fsm/vst float module and a rubber hose inside the fsm. Hopefully that's it!

Alright, got the 'toon picked up today and they said she's all fixed up. Evidently the float switch was bad and they replaced it under warranty.

And they went ahead and changed the oil and lower unit grease while the had it. So, I guess this weekend when we put it in the water, (I already feel a sickness coming on), we will see how she does. Hopefully no more problems and "Laid off Sick" will be a lot more reliable!

So by saying "they went ahead and changed the oil and lower unit lube" was this done without your asking or was it an if we do this for free, will you pay for this.... Because that just erks the ever lovin crap out of me. Did it need the lubes changed? I'm glad its running good now...But??? You know what I mean?

I went ahead and told them to do it. It was due a lube job and since it was already at the dealership I said why not. It'll save me a trip since I was planning on getting it done next month. A few hours on the oil ain't gonna hurt when it sits for the winter.

Excellent! I took mine in for a $125.00 emergency fuel float and left with a $600.00 bill for replacing fuel filters and water separater that I had replaced a month earlier and they never called to authorize the repairs, just called and said, "Your boats done".
But, they had me by the nads!

Yeah, I made sure I told them several times that I had already replaced the fuel filters and air filter. The only service that I wanted was just the oil changes. If anything else came up to call me. I know firsthand how dealers like to throw the extra stuff in there at the extent of your pocketbook!
