Your red boat looks great with the red trim on the ETEC.

All pontoon boats have a speed where they meet a point of no return. It's like they hit a wall, and to get them to go faster it's all horsepower. For a 2 toon boat without lifting strakes, the wall's about 30 mph. For a 3 toon boat with lifting strakes, it's about 40 mph. Every mph more takes much more horsepower.

As far as 45 mph, you may be at the max. available speed for your boat. Your R model is a well built boat, and they're a little heavy with the ESP third toon and plush interiors.
