I was going to take the toon out today but it turned nasty

#1 Post by HandymanHerb » Fri Nov 01, 2013 10:04 pm

It was feeling good all of this week, today it jumped into the 90's, so I said no way if I have to sweat I'm going to make money, I might go out tomorrow as bad as i hate going out on Saturday's, I was thinking about taking it out tonight since I got the the anchor light wired tonight, it was fighting me and took a lot longer to get it done than it should have, ship happens.

Then the niece stopped up a sink in the house I had to go fix, since my brother is out west hunting in Wy, but at least I got that done quick, if I got the toon done earlier, I might have been able to talk the girl at the parts place to go with me, I stopped to get a two pole plug for the Bimini top light and told her I might go fishing, she said it must be nice, I said you aren't working all night.

Might have to try again later to see if she wants to go night fishing, might get a chance to get my deck wet after while :nana :nana :nana

keep trying Herb and eventually you'll have success. And you might get your boat out too! :tassles

Dried off the toon, ate lunch and the rain stopped about 1:30 so we got it in the water this time, only trouble was, the prime fishing time were 9:30 till 11:30 when the rain was the hardest and then with the cold front that came by killed all the fishing, a few weeks ago we were in the spot I was fishing in and you could see fish working the water and a lot of top water action, but it was dead after the storm, but hey we got out and that's the main thing.

Here's my crew, since I had no ideal what it was going to do I didn't invite anyone to come out with me, that and the fact I don't know the fishing spots on this chain of lakes yet so I took the dogs

Turned out not to be the best with my brother's dog, he is still a puppy, when gun goes off he wants to see something fall and ever cast he wanted a fish to jump on right away, he wanted to action and whinnied and barked all the time I was fishing, he is staying home next time.

But I stayed out till 6:30 with rain coming and going, the 10 foot Bimini top kept me dry anyway, never even had a hit on my plastic worms and couldn't even find anything to come up and eat bread, but that's why they call it fishing not catching, even all the people I passed fishing under the bridges weren't catching anything.

Oh by the way since it was hot the day before and still quite warm I left the house in shorts, the temp went from 88 to 63 quick, as least I had my long sleeve shirts with me so at least my upper body stayed warm anyway and I did have my rain coat to throw over my legs when running the boat, but that's Fla this time of year, get hot, rain, then get cold, repeat

While I was pulling the boat I was smelling coolant and was getting a noise, water pump going out again, I guess two years is all you get out of one, so that's what I get to do today

:lol3 :thumbsup

I was up at the lake a few weeks ago and it was 30 degrees out and the water was freezing cold. I walked down to the lake with my golden and she was all excited like she always gets by the water. She was standing on the end of the pier...

I said "No! It's way too cold we can't swim."

She looked back at me and looked at the water and back at me again. I said "NO!!! WE ARE NOT SWIMMING!"...

She looked back at me and looked at the water looked back at me and jumped in! :lol3 :lol3 :lol3

Little shit. :lol3

Hey it's getting fishing season for us, I was going to go out for a little while today hunting shiners, but the wind was 20 to 25 MPH, all though I use to enjoy crabbed approaches in the plane, it's not as much fun on the toon in the wind.

In the plane, coming in in a crabbed into the wind, I could drop the wing, kick it straight, land on the upwind wheel first ,then let the other down as I lose speed, trying to fish in this wind is no fun at all, never mind the wind would have made to dam hard to load the way it was blowing at the ramp.

Pete the Golden was saying come on you puss :rofl :rofl :rofl
