I would say the motor is too low

#1 Post by gvince4 » Wed Dec 11, 2013 4:03 pm

Hello all.

As I watched this "add" the first thing I thought was, hey that's a lot like mine. Then at 2.03 (feel free to skip to the run) I thought, that motor is way too low!

What are your thoughts?

No, at timestamp 2.14 you can see his cavitation plate. Looks fine to me. And at 2.20 when running he is just right, just a plume of a tail. Perfect!

I have to agree with Brian here, for the most part. Those pods can be funny in the way that they move water around the skeg. I do see some water coming 'up' in a weird way. He might try to come up one or two notches to see what it does. It is certainly set pretty close tho because he is running pretty darn well on a 50 horse. Too deep and he wouldn't get that kind of push, too shallow and he would be blowing out.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I'm looking forward to putting ours in next spring. I've never even ridden on a pontoon boat. :donno
