Marine Vinyl Cleaner

#1 Post by ezrollin » Fri Dec 27, 2013 6:23 pm

Anyone know of a good marine vinyl cleaner ? I have some dark mildew or fungus stains that need more than just soap and water, need something that won't harm the vinyl.

I'll often start with just soap, a sponge and some elbow grease. My dealer swears by Mean Green on seating.

I've also been know to use a weak bleach/water solution. Let sit and hose off with plenty of water. May need a second application.

My favorite detergent type sprays are Awesome (yellow) @ Dollar General @ $1 per spray bottle. I like Zep Orange Degreaser even better, as it even cleans paint off hands. I also like the Mr. Clean Magic Sponges to get the most stubborn stains off anything.

Careful with the magic eraser on the threads.

If it is actually mildew stains you will probably need a small diluted amount of bleach.

Yes,I had thought of diluted bleach solution with good ole liquid soap and warm water but didn't know if it would have a detrimental affect on the vinyl. It is a large area, front and rear deck and will require more than just a spray bottle.I don't think a really mild spplication followed by good rinsing would hurt ?

I repeat.... Roll off!

Much better than magic eraser or bleach & water. I've tried them all... After you've tried them and they don't work .... Try Roll Off . If that don't work.... Forgetaboutit. :donno

It says on the container that you can dilute it. I think just for general use a quart would do. But, for a whole deck I would get a gallon. http://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Roll-Off- ... B000FSDZTU
