New Stern Ladder
I just received the new stern ladder from Pontoon Stuff! Man this thing is solid! And very shiny!
http://www.pontoonstuff.com/Stainless-S ... 48C56.aspx
If you are going to a boat show look at the ladder on the Manitou's and Premier's it's the same one.
I was worried since my old stern ladder had rubber stoppers that rested on the end of the toon and this one didn't, I wasn't sure if it would be sturdy enough. The ladder rungs unfold and rest against the handles at a perfect angle. Really stout construction it is all stainless steel with fantastic welds. I am not sure of the weight limitation but I would easily think 300+ lbs. My old tracker has walls that go all the way to the end of the rear deck, I was worried it wouldn't fit. I compared it to the sundeck cover on that side And a picture I have of the rear entry and it will be just fine!
If you are looking for a stern ladder this is the one. It may be more expensive than some of the others out there, but well worth it in my opinion.
I can't wait to get down to the lake to mount it up!
See the link in my sig for pics. I added it to my rebuild thread.

Re: New Stern Ladder
I wouldn't worry about it at all. In fact, if you look at most of the major OEMs over the last few years you will see they have used this style ladder for quite some time now. It's almost a requirement any more with most toons having a rear over hang of some sort. PontoonStuff really took their time bringing an OEM quality ladder to the aftermarket, and it shows. When mounted properly, this ladder will support 400#!
Just one boat...after another, after another
Re: New Stern Ladder
Great looking ladder and I too was wondering how it would be to board when the ladder doesn't rest against the toon -- on our boat, there is a bracket that was welded on that the bottom of the upper section of ladder is attached to for support. But that bracket and bottom of the upper section of ladder drag in the water. Having everything completely up out of the water would be nice. Looking forward to hearing more reports of how this ladder works out for you.

True looks like on their website the ladder on all the pics is not as sturdy as this one....

Re: New Stern Ladder
I can personally testify that the Premier ladder is super sturdy and does not flop around on the lower section as the collapsible one did on my last boat. A Sea Cat power catamaran. It looked very similar to the subject one. Chinese made?curtiscapk wrote:Rascal wrote:NOT the same ladder as on my Premier.

Re: New Stern Ladder
looks like that black clip that holds it up when collapsed could be in the way when boarding, or snag the little tykes pfds when they're climbing up. most ladders i've seen just use a strap and snap to secure when closed.
good looking ladder though, i had one similar on my sea ray.

Re: New Stern Ladder
Hey Bryan!
Going good. Check out the latest updated to the rebuild in my sig. I got it running after Labor Day but never got to take it out due to my daughters wedding. So now we are waiting for good weather. I am suprised you didn't hear me scream and shout when it fired up!
Thanks for asking and the EZ fenders are awesome! Even though the haven't been used in real life only dry land pretend.
