Over Night Toons
I'm just before launching my weekender project and wondering how many others have set up their toon for overnight use. There's something about watching sun rises and sun sets on the water that is inspirational to me.If you've posted pics of yours I would like to see them.

Re: Over Night Toons
I agree! We loved overnighting in our Baja's. Since we got into 'Tooning' 7 years ago, we have pretty much gotten away from it, I'm sad to say. I do have a blow up bow filler bed we could use, and kept all of my cook tops and so on. Just the mention of it, makes me want to buy a camper enclosure and go! Another way to slow down and create some good memories.... Thanks for starting this topic!

I wonder how this would work for overnight trips?

The full camper enclosures are about $4K options on new boats.
They're nice, but you have to take them down partially to run very fast speeds.
I think I'd just prefer to spend the night in hotels or state parks on the water or in the vicinity. Boats can be parked in marinas for the night.

When the weather is right, which is actually a lot down here, we just sleep in the open anchored up, with my LED's on.
Really haven't had problems with bugs.

When I had the Party Cruiser we overnighted a lot. With the Party Barge, I'm looking into a tent or enclosure now that Ethan is getting a bit older.

Re: Over Night Toons
We never used an enclosure as the mosquitos did not seem bad on the lakes we went to. We enjoyed sleeping under the star on the floor of the boat. We found that separate air mattresses push together were better since I did not launch my wife out of bed when I laid back down. We tried to anchor I a protected cove all of the time.
The biggest problem was bugs drawn to the anchor light.
Nothing beats idling back from your favorite sunset spot and not having to worry about all of the other hassles.

I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people.. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.

Re: Over Night Toons
That's exactly what we do. I was interested in an enclosure at first, but then I realized there is no need for one. No bugs here (one more reason to love this place!!). Even if it's 100+ degrees during the day, once the sun sets it cools off so well on the lake that the temperature is pretty well perfect all night. We just anchor out, under the stars. We even roll up one of the bimini tops for more exposure to the stars. We leave one open to keep the anchor light from being visible while we sleep. I love to stay out on the boat all night.steveiam wrote:When the weather is right, which is actually a lot down here, we just sleep in the open anchored up, with my LED's on.

Hi, I checked out that link to the memory foam, I will be needing some in the future. I plan on having two storage boxes ie bunks on the floor one each side and two foldups on the walls. I was wondering if that 2 inch memory foam is firm enough it won't bottom out of course it will be encased in a soft vinyl covering.

Re: Over Night Toons
You should check out fredeboy's setup! He turned me on to the guy that makes those screen enclosures. I ended up ordering one that covers my entire toon similar to the one that fredeboy has pictured. He sells either mosquito or no seum netting...I ended up getting the full screen enclosure with no seum netting. I haven't used it yet but looking at fredeboys pics I can't wait! The nice thing about it is that the entire thing fits into a average sized plastic container...
Good luck...
