fuel tank

#1 Post by wedge542 » Tue Mar 18, 2014 12:51 am

Ive been wanting to put a bigger tank on my pontoon for yrs, right now i have two 12 gal plastic tanks with 3/8 pickups and one has a elect gauge hookup, both 4 sale, i found a moeller 032640 40 gal that will fit where i want to place it but its also plastic but i can mount it with the strap kit they sale, is it ok to mount a tank like this with the vent to outside if i enclose the area but not water tight encloser and no elec blower fan system?

That's the way the tank is mounted on our Benny.

Moeller makes tie down kits and vents and hardware to mount their tanks. The tank you are considering is tan in color, and it's meant to be permanently installed. No fans or ventilation is required.

I put the 20 gallon in and you don't need vents as the compartment is not sealed , fence jacks let in air low and the sundeck vents the top

thanks guys, moeller offers a nice hold down kit for it too, those two 12 gal tanks hanging out back just not big enough to feed this big barge pulling toys all day.
