I bought a used boat from Fox Lake Harbor once, long time ago, overall it went OK but it was one of those one-and-done deals. We never had to go back to them for anything. Last time we were looking we went by, they tried to get us to buy a boat off their floor but we didn't bite. The deal wasn't great at all. I thought the salesman was a bit sleezy about it. The deal we got on our JC smoked their deal, thank GOD we waited. Twice the boat for not that much more.

What are you looking for? There are good dealers around. We bought our JC from Liberty Marine Center in Libertyville.

That is where I got my JC from (though I thought they were in Grayslake). Excellent people to work with, and I walked out of FLH vowing I would never step foot in there again after the way the sales people treated my wife.

I was all over last year looking for a toon, deciding on the JC, and I feel I got a hell of a deal, bonus was the follow through and service from Liberty which has been excellent.

I contemplated taking my boat to Wisconsin to visit family, scattered from Manitowoc down to Milwaukee. Then I heard that Winnebago is so badly infested with zebra/quagga mussels that they might eat your boat overnight, and decided that my boat would never make a cheese run.

bobg great boating in wisconsin. winnebago connects with fox river to lake butte des morts to wolf river to lake winneconne to lake poygan to wolf river.... just awesome boating.... lots of places to stop and eat or drink.

I leave my boat on sea legs in the lake, and have zero zebra mussels attached. yes some zebra mussels are in lakes but i do not have problems
