Tritoon , help me Mr. Wizard.....

#1 Post by smoker62 » Thu Mar 20, 2014 2:34 pm

I was all set to order a Crest with a 300 Vrod pro when the dealer tells me it may not come with the package layout in the model he quoted , so price goes up a bit for the upgrade... smoke and mirrors. No deal. I found a 2013 Southbay 724 SL DLX loaded with a 250 Verado, Lights everywhere , under deck, under water rears, power bimini, amped stereo, blah blah. Vrod is not the pro but whatever I guess, I can live without the pretty red accents and larger gearcase. EDIT, the pro has the smaller 4.8 gearcase.

The Southbay is a sweet boat, i own one now . Priced right but its a dealer demo with 10 hrs but has full warranty, great dealer.Take a look and let me know what you think , disregard the price.

I keep it in Northern Wi. Yes tow bar on the back, If I knew the chain , I might be inclined to drop it in a time or two though. I heard its a hard waterway to navigate . You still looking to sell yours ?

Beautiful boat. 250 Verado is a fine engine that you can get the ECU flashed to well over 300 horsepower. Just get the longest engine warranty you can afford.

maybe ill have to take you for a cruise on the chain this summer. I really love my toon, so it would be hard to sell it, but if the right off came in.....I might. JT

Well my buddy with his Baja loves your boat and may want to see it . Let me know a ball park starting price and he might entertain an offer. If you need a first mate anytime this summer I would go with my wife, or with out lol and pay gas. I would like a tour of the chain. I am up north most weekends though. Have been to Blarneys like 20 years ago.

That's a beautiful boat!!! I'm sure you'll be ecstatic either way. I wouldn't let 10 hours on a demo sway you one way or another.

How in the world could a guy bowfish on that thing??? My catfish and striper rods would tangle with the planers. I see no value in that except it can go pretty fast.

might as well bring the wife, that way she can see what the chain is like. We can hit Blarneys no problem, Im not a big fan, I mostly go on Thursday nights for the boat races, I like to tour the chain, idle down the long channels, and just enjoy the ride, and views. JT
