Width of Gemini 201

#1 Post by Coldbrew » Sat Apr 19, 2014 5:41 am

Is there anyone that can tell me the width on the trailer of a Premier Gemini 201?

I store my current boat under my deck in the winter so I don't have to have it wrapped, but I've only got about 10 feet. My boat's not coming in until mid-June so I can't measure it.

Thanks! :biggrin2

According to this site your boat is 8'6" in width which is the maximum allowable with for on road service and the trailer for the same reason won't be any wider. So that should leave you a foot and a half, snug but it would be doable.

You will have a few inches on each side. No much room for maneuver. You have to be straight once the boat starts going in.i have ten wide storage but the door is only about nine feet wide. Serious pain in the ass. But at least there is room to get straight up before I go in. (Pun intended)

Thanks for the replies. I forgot about the max size for road usage.

I have almost a full 10 feet because it actually goes under my deck (see picture of previous boat), so there's no door.

Should work.... :|

Id be more concerned about height than I am about width. Pontoons are tall.

Pretty sure it will not fit under the deck, unless you have a scissor trailer to set it on the ground.

I've got 8' of height. With the bimini down (removed if I have to) you still think I will be too tall?

Yes. I believe your are quite a bit to high even with the bimini removed.

I guess all I can do is wait until it comes in and measure it. Thanks for all the replies. :P

Coldbrew, the trailer will also make a difference on height, you will want one with the 10 inch tires, and my personal preference is the Shorelander, not the Yacht club, the Shorelander is a much stronger trailer, and the steps/handrail on the front is much nicer, easier and safer to climb up and down. The Shorelander also tows much smoother, they are a little more expensive, but in my opinion, it is worth every penny and then some.

The Yacht club we had came with the 13" tires and the Shorelander has the 10" tires, between the tire size, the way the springs were mounted and the way he bunks were set up on the yacht club the toon sat about 8-9 inches higher. It actually caught quite a bit more air when towing and we got 2-3 less mpg than with the lower Shorelander. The lower trailer is also easier to launch and load at a shallower ramp.

Mine must be huge...Mine is at 9'3" to the top of the highpoint of the bimini(s) when they are laid down. Could be the wet bar :drink4

Thanks Ray Jr. Good to know. I checked my order and I am getting the Shorelander. The only problem is that it has 13" tires. :censored
