iPhone Mount Recommendations
Hi all,
Got a Sun Tracker 20 (2014) and looking for an iPhone 5s mount. Preferably suction cup and that has some protection from spray and weather. Anyone got any thoughts on that?

Re: iPhone Mount Recommendations
I pulled this off my fishing kayak and mounted it on my Solstice.
Suction cup mount with flexible neck from the Verison Store. Lifeproof iPhone case (Verison Store) wearing the orange Lifeproof Life Jacket (Sunjammers Water Sports). Nice to have the padding because running 30 over some moderate chop sent the phone flying from the mount. Bluetooth in iPhone connects to stereo, so phone calls, messages and music are wireless and heard through the boat speakers. Mount will also secure a hand-held VHS radio nicely.

Re: iPhone Mount Recommendations
It's kind of the hillbilly solution but I just always put my phone in a ziplock bag when we head out. You can still use the touch screen and it protects from any weather. It was always good enough in the army when dealing with sweat in a pocket or rain. Couple that with a short rocketfish brand car mount and you're good to hook. I've always had good luck with that brand and the shorter mount you get the more stable.

Re: iPhone Mount Recommendations
I went with the X-grip (for when I eventually upgrade my phone) and a generic water resistant case. Works perfectly.
Re: iPhone Mount Recommendations
The Ram x-grip works great. I have been using ram mounts for years for all kinds of things like gopro mounts on sandrails and motorcycles. I currently am using the x-grip on the motorcycle, sandrail and plan on mounting a ball on my new toon for it. I have had some pretty hard landings jump the sandrail and the iPhone has never budged in the mount.
Re: iPhone Mount Recommendations
I just bought 2 of these. Price was so low that I bought a spare. Was surprised at how well it works. Suction cup really holds well and easily fits our iPhone and Samsung phones. It ships from China so allow time if you order. They have lots of styles on their website http://www.miniinthebox.com

Re: iPhone Mount Recommendations
Ram Mount ball system is the way to go, have the X mount on both motorcycles and the Jeep it hold securely.
Re: iPhone Mount Recommendations
I agree with you about the Ram mount. I had one on my ATV, then my son transferred it to his boat when I sold the ATV. They are extremely well made but are also far from inexpensive. I couldn't pass on tring the cheap solution above and have been pleased with it. I can buy a whole bunch of them for what one Ram costs.
