You should be able to pull the tree out by hand unless it stuff between the bottom of the lake and the boat then its going to be a bit harder .

If I'm seeing the pictures correctly, I think I'd try the following.

I'd use a pole or long timber to push the tree down at the stern of the boat, pushing it forwards while it's pushed down, thus allowing the apparently flood level current to help push the tree clear of the boat.

If might help to have a second person also using a long pole or timber to push down on the front end of the tree at the same time.

Another option would be to tie on to the boat with a 2nd boat and pull the boat free of the tree.

A 3rd option if the motor can be lowered and clears any underwater obstruction (could be checked for by probing with a pole) and reverse the boat against the current once the tree is cleared away from the stern.

I like the option using another boat to pull you free. I'd add: Rope the log to the bank to hold it, while using another boat to slide and pull you free.

Then, with the rope still on the log, I'd tow that sucker away from my dock.

Did it ! The diameter of the tree was pinched
between the pontoon log & the motor mount.
Had to trim down the root ball with a chainsaw
& went to the front of the boat & got her rocking.
Took a lot of work but eventually started to work
itself out using the river current.
The storm was a quick one day event. Raised the
River 14-15ft. overnite !

Thanks for the help. Jim

Glad it all worked out for you.
I'd be worried about my dock staying put if the river came up that much. :scared

There's a larger island up stream that channels most
of the washout to the other side of the river from where
we dock. A few of there docks on the other side got wiped
out & I watched a few busted up remains floating by in the
way faster than normal current. It's prolly good our dock
broke free & pivoted parallel to the bank. The current was
So fast just beond the shoreline !
