Top Cover

#1 Post by Eddie O'Neill » Thu May 15, 2014 8:40 am

Hi, my boat came with a storage cover which is not much good when the boat is in the water. I'm looking for a cover for the top of the boat only. All the ones I've seen on our dock seem to be custom made.
I did look at a few sites for custom covers, but they all seem to be of the storage variety.
Any advice appreciated.

When you say top, are you meaning the cover would only go down to the top of the playpen? If so, I don't know that I've seen one like this, other than custom. You may try your luck on a universal cover from Bass Pro or some place like that.

Yes, just the top of the pen, only want to cover the furniture. I'll have a look at Bass pro, thanks for the tip.

I am in the same boat as you. (HA!)
I have taken the route of furniture covers. Overtons seem to have decently priced ones.
The universal ones i am finding have the corset closure in the back and my boat is slipped 24/7 so those are not ideal

I went to a marina yesterday and they quoted me $1200 for a customer cover. I'll have a look at Overtons

You won't find a cover like that at Overtons. That's not a bad price for a custom cover.

We leave our boat in our slip 365/year. When we are away, we cover the boat with our vinyl cover. We made a spider cover our of a light nylon fabric. It is very easy to handle yet keeps the spiders from crapping on the boat and puts things out of sight. We have this attached with several elastic cords and we get the boat covered in less than 10 minutes, probably 5.

I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people.. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.
