Gas Grille Opinions?
I'm looking for a gas grille for the toon. We have a portable in our camper but I don't want to haul that from the boat to the camper and back. I want one that I can either mount to the rail or on a pedistal on the stern. And preferably stainless steel. If love to hear all your suggestions and to be able to steer clear of the bad ones! So let's hear it! What do you like?

I have a West Marine branded Magma, never had any issues with it. Owned it 8 years as of this season.

Re: Gas Grille Opinions?
I ended up buying a Kuuma 160 Grill and making my own mount. The grill was $125 plus $5 shipping. They have gone up a bit but you can find them for $135.

This shows the grill mounted to the rail. I welded up the brackets myself. There are brackets you can purchase but these met my requirements better:

Here are the brackets I made. It can just slide in and out of them, The part on the grill can be reversed if I decide to have the grill face the dock.
You can buy brackets to do something similar.

$20 grill. About $10 in other materials. 2nd season and working great so far. Platform breaks down when not in use and stows away. Grill only comes on board with we are bringing food to cook vs sandwich stuff.

I've got a Kuuma Stow N Go, stern mounted on a pedistal. It works just fine. Gets plenty hot. A bit sensitive to a stiff breeze from the rear. We ordered a s/s tray that hangs off the front for a bit more cooking space for utensils or food.

Re: Gas Grille Opinions?
Is there an extra piece you buy for the grill to set on a pedistal or do most marina grills have that option already? I have a pedistal at the front of boat and looking for a good grill that I can leave up there.

Re: Gas Grille Opinions?
So Magma or Kuuma. I like the idea of the pedestal mount but I don't like that it keeps the grill over the deck and not over the side. So I think I'll go with the rail mount. I'm going to look at West Marine tonight and post what I like to see what you guys think. Thanks everybody for all the replies!

Re: Gas Grille Opinions?
I just bought a like-new genuine Magma (rectangular) gas grill with mount and pedestal from a garage sale a few months back. It was on a boat he had recently bought and he said he would never use it. He was asking $20.00, I gave him $10.00 (I would of given him full price but it doesn't hurt to ask
). I walked away from his house with that grill in hand and cat-eatin-grin, feeling elated at my find and a little bit guilty about stealing it at the same time.
BTW, they are very nice grills.
