E Tec problem today

#1 Post by lakerunner » Fri Jun 13, 2014 8:40 pm

So a great day on Tenkiller today till time to load up.

Usual drill, Betty backs down, I load and hold boat on trailer with motor in gear as she pulls out. As soon as the prop blows out I kill motor and we get boat ready to travel. Well today as Betty pulled up the ramp and the prop blew I turned off ignition but motor kept running. Betty backed . down as fast as she could but worried about impeller ( second trip since new one was installed)
Had to cut fuel line and let motor run out of gas to kill it.

Last spring the kill switch broke off and we had to have dealer talk Chris through hot wiring under console so we could get home.

Going to have a new switch installed with better kill system and a fuel cutoff

Sounds like replacing the impeller, and switch are a good idea. I know for a fact my kill switch works. Don't ask me how I know though.
