Water hose

#1 Post by smuckie » Mon Jun 23, 2014 7:47 am

I have a broken fitting on side of my 08 Mercury 115 hp 4 stroke, sorry haven't got my manual yet so I don't know part names but I'll try to post pic, it's a 3/8" rubber hose that goes to a fuel something, maybe cooler? Broke and now water don't come out back of motor, need to know what it's called to get new one

I'm confused by the red lines, but I think the box you're referring to in that pic is the fuel pump assembly. It's uses water pressure to switch hi/lo fuel pumps...somehow. I have seen on mine where the plumbing does also feed the pee-port.

If you have your engines serial number, and these pictures, (or better yet, a cell phone picture of the part on your engine) and bring it into your local boat dealership / parts place, and show them what you need. This is what they do, and usually know exactly what you're talking about. At least, from my experience.

Great guys thanks, maybe that'll fix my other issue, it'll only run up to 4900 rpm at 19 mph when other boats like mine run 29 to 31 mph at 6200 rpm

im not a mechanic, nor prop expert....

but, 4900 at 19mph when you expect more, could be a prop size/pitch issue, more than motor issue.

go here

https://webapps.brunswick.com/literatur ... eSearch.do

Enter serial number and you can pull up the parts catalog. Good luck.
