Where/How to mount fish finder transducer

#1 Post by drakus » Mon Jul 07, 2014 9:30 am

OK, stupid question, but it was one of those weekends and brain just does not want to work properly.

I picked up the new to me toon yesterday, stay out on lake Wawasee for a few hours (Sorry no picks forgot phone & camera).

When we got home, I was going to install my fishfinder, but there is only 1 mounting plate of the starboard toon and nothing on port side.

The only thing mounted is for the speedometer (which is pretty accurate from my 1st trip out when testing).

Is there a way to mount the transducer to this with out removing the speedomoter thing mounted to it.

Thanks

PS: I pics needed I will post them when i get home from work.

How much room does the speedo thing take up? Is it like the one in this picture? If so, there should be room beside it if your bracket is similar to mine......

Bracket no where near that big. But the speedo thing looks just like the bottom pic.

I will post a pic when I get home so you can see what it is.

I may have room mounting it just that way in the bigger pic.

I got it installed last night, now to get it out on the water this weekend.

For some reason I was thinking it was a bottom mount not side.

Powers up and no shorts, very little drain from battery.

Dual battery setup is next install.
