Re: Adding Strakes
Please post the results if you add the strakes. I think there are a lot of us who are interested in them. My 25' Crest with 135 Honda runs 25 gps at WOT. Would like more speed.

Re: Adding Strakes
one quick update,
i ordered some of the aluminum welding rod listed in my previous reply,
i ordered it to make a small repair to my toons, it sticks to the pontoon very well it sticks to the patch very well, problem is it does not stick to itself? as the two parts cool down it cracks right down the middle of the weld?????
The repair was completed with a good aluminum epoxy sealant.
I am leaning toward a couple of different method of gaining performance, i will either weld the strakes on or order new toons with them installed

Re: Adding Strakes
The fun when welding unknown metals is the suspense.
Re: Adding Strakes
i will not be adding strakes to the riviera, read my renovation blog to see why. the toons are not worth the money basically.
the toons will eventually be replaced, hopefully over this winter. the new toons will have the strakes installed, the best perfomance numbers i will be able to provide will be to compare the new toons to the old. i will also be adding a waterglide or possible a net center toon, but i am leaning toward a waterglide.
the have numbers on a 24 foot toon that is almost the exact setup i have, size weight engine etc, those number are pretty impressive.
