Question on use of Bimini tops when moving. We are new to pontoons and our brand new Cypress Cay's Bimini top ripped at the snaps in two places after only using it 4 times. Wondering if it is something we did or if it is the top. We have a double top and had the front one down but had the back one up when moving.
They are replacing the top but I am concerned that this will happen again when it is not under waranty.
Thanks for any input.

Re: Ripped Bimini Top
I know my pontoon one I bought didn't come with a "MPH" rating but the one I bought for my Boat was "30mph". I know if I'm going to be running 30mph into a headwind that I have to really tighten the straps on my Pontoon or it starts to "balloon" pretty good.

Its gonna happen again , and again , and again...... Your best bet at this time is to have a Stainless steel Bimini made like the ones on the go fast boats.... I'm dealing with a similar situation right now...only the frame gave out . These Bimini's they have on these havn't followed the techinological advancments that the motors and logs have made.... there still designed for the 15mph cruise... Which makes a guy wonder why they are on there when the manufacture or sales rep stands before you and tells you how much faster this generation pontoon / tritoon is than the ones before it.... Thats my opinion anyway..lol

Re: Ripped Bimini Top
Ours is 8 years old and never had a problem with the bimini, even at 40 mph.

Re: Ripped Bimini Top
10 years never a problem other than front straps breaking. Replaced them with stainless cable. Always towed boat with top up with support bars in place up to 80 mph like in picture below
