I think we all got hood winked on this one... This one is "samson's" one and only posting. Good information shared too.

This subject is usually quite contoversial..... You should only load a boat till the performance charateristics are effected... Just cause the tag there on the boat says you can have 12 people on board.... It doesnt say which 12 people... granted its usually followed up with a weight rating as well.... Once your water line and handling charateristics are impared things can go sideways quick...

I have to wonder about the OP question....I agree with others that if this is a valid question , You need to consider several factors....

Are you really ready to set out on a voyage and prepared for all the variables that will come your way ???
Are you ready to take all of those variables and put your life and that of loved ones jeopardy ??
By all means boating is great activity and wonderful way of life... however you need to be honest with yourself and your experince in operating a boat.

My 07 Bentley is rated for 16 people too... or xxxx pounds, can't remember the number but... if you divide the xxxx by 16 it's a whole lot less than the southern, biscuits and gravy crowd you typically see around here on average. You can't really go by the number of people it's rated for, except to never exceed that number.

While I notice that Samson only posted one post, this one, and then has evidently absented himself, the answers given are accurate as well as civil.

The only time it might be okay to have the boat overloaded is when tied to the dock. I think ours was this day while partying at a concert at Papas on the Lake. It is rated for 12 or 13 not 15!!

I knew I was on the wrong lake!

I sat at the helm yesterday and ran the numbers on my plate. 16 people all weighing 145 pounds or less... OK, scratch that... 6 people and all the snacks that they want to carry. If I tried the topless thing I'm sure I would get smacked. (No pain, no gain?)

My fat tush is certainly over 145, so that's out.

As for "Topless wearing bikini's"?

I'm happily married and want to stay that way. :prayer

Besides. If I can't touch em, feel em, grab em and play with em, I don't want to be too close to em.

I'd want to touch em, feel em, grab em and play with em and THEN I'd probably get "Court Martialed" by "The Admiral". :paranoid
