Looking for new pontoon boat suggestions...

#1 Post by rbiederwolf » Sat Aug 09, 2014 11:55 am

Wife has given the ok for a new boat. We love our current one, but i want something more fish able.

Thus to keep us both happy, must have plenty of seating/sun lounging area for wife, but would like to have it somewhat open on back with live well and rod holders etc

Must be tritoon minimum 250 hp, also minimum 22 ft. Budget is 50k plus

Thanks for any suggestions

If your wife wants plush, and you want fish, look at Bennington. You can build a boat here, http://www.benningtonmarine.com/#/3 And if you have any questions, go here, http://club.benningtonmarine.com/ Lots of good folks with good info.

I'll go along with my fellow new hampshire-ite and suggest a Premier. Only I'm going to suggest the Gemini. I'm a little biased, but the 221 model is just what you described.

Good luck in your search! :biggrin2

Check out all the local dealers first. Who has the best service, reputation, is easy to work with. Then pick the boat. The top boats are all good, the rest is just fluff. If you have any issues, ever, who will go to bat for you with the manufacterer or at least get your repairs made as a priority because you bought the boat from them even if 5 years from now. That could make the difference between being on the water in a week or two, or not for a month or two if even a minor repair.

Who wants to haul their boat 2 hours to the dealer for an oil change after break in? What if you have a warrenty issue? Try to buy local and save that gas for the lake. You will need it with a 250!!!
