Pontoons and Kayaks
We are playing around with ways to take our two kayaks when we travel along with our pontoon boat. We can't put them in the back of the truck because we will be pulling with a motor home, not a truck. We tried several configurations inside the boat but didn't feel comfortable with any of them. We don't want to risk any damage to the fence, seats, etc. So now we are looking at putting them under the boat. Hopefully I have attached pictures for your viewing pleasure. Of course they would be tied down with straps. Does anyone see any reason why this would not work?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Pontoons and Kayaks
Looks ok to me. Might want to pad surfaces of frames touching kayaks. vibration and rough roads might be hard on boat skins.

Re: Pontoons and Kayaks
We are tossing around using the pool noodles. Maybe splitting them and using good ole' duct tape to tape them to the supports. Of course it would be some of the new designer "Duck Tape"

Probably an unneeded warning, but.......
Don't forget they're under there when you go to launch the Toon.
That might make for some interesting issues.

DH nixed the designer duct tape
Now we are thinking heavy duty wire ties to hold down the split noodles.
And yep, with our memory I could see us launching the boat with the kayaks still on the trailer. Hey, maybe we could just launch them all at once that way....

Re: Pontoons and Kayaks
I fashioned bunks from 3" PVC pipe and converted an old jet ski trailer to carry my Hobie fishing kayak. The kayak lays on the PVC and is strapped down.
Clearance under your boat appears tight, maybe a little too tight for this to work.
Maybe pictures can help.

Re: Pontoons and Kayaks
I just had a thought when I looked back at the pics of the kayaks. The road film and dirt are going to make a mess inside and outside of your little boats when you travel over the road. Like on a rainy day.
