No but have used them on other things, better have your main engine running, they will suck a 12 volt battery down quick if not.

I was actually going to post on here with the same question.

I've been looking at one of these based on price and reviews:

I have used a few random ones for automotive use (12V plugin) but haven't used any in a marine application before.

Search this forum for inverters. There are some really good discussions on this topic.

My wife and i often sleep over night on my toon, and she loves a cup in the mornings, so 2 years ago i looked into a inverter and the power draw is nuts, at 120 volts a 3 amp draw maker is 30 amps at 12 volts and the 12 volt coffee makers just dosnt work all that well, I ended up buying a Colman propane pot and that works great

Why not get a 12 volt cofee maker instead?

because at 156W it takes 15 minutes to basically brew one cup of coffee.

Always a bad idea to use a 12V power source for anything that is used for heating.

that is not true at all,

i use the same coffee maker in my rv and it takes no time at all. the only down side is it shuts itself off after brewing so it wont keep the coffee warm. this one is a smaller unit, i am sure they have others that make a larger pot.

It states on Amazon that it takes less than 15 minutes. How much less, it doesn't say.

There are more 1 star reviews than any other reviews and they all say the same thing. Takes too long and the coffee isn't hot.

Of course since it is using around 1/8th the power of a kitchen coffee maker, it isn't surprising. The keurig one cup machine that draws 1450 watts takes 2 minutes..I have one. That is 9 times the power of this 12V machine. 9 *2 minutes = 18 minutes.

I run the laptop and a printer off a 600 watt inverter in the truck right off the cig plug.
Use to be husband and wife team and we ran a 1800 watt with a microwave and coffe maker. Where you keep your batterys mount what ever size inverter in there and run a remote switch for the inverter .. Then just run a drop cord up through the floor where you want 110volts to be. You can even mount it in a outside waterproof box. Short run from the batters to the inverter, use number 4 or 6 cable, won't need but several foot in the battery compartment and its protected out the weather. Can mount the remote on the CC. Simple.

Just be aware that if your coffee maker is pulling 600W, you will be drawing over 55A from your battery. Size your cables hooked up to this accordingly.
