Motor up or down

#1 Post by eekman56 » Tue Sep 02, 2014 6:23 pm

Hello. After years of owning a jet boat we turned in the speed demon for something wider and slower, much like me. Anyway at the wet slip I've noticed some people leave their outboards down in the water and some have theirs up. What's the best way?

up is better, especially in saltwater. Salt is evil.

Yep, up if you can. Way better on stuff not soaking water, salt or fresh. In fact if I used a boat slip it would be one with a lift so as not to have anything soaking in water. Down here the algae and slim will kill a boats speed.
