Harris Bimini Operation

Does anyone know how to collapse a bimini top on a Harris Flotebote Solstice 220?

The dealer orientation left a lot to be desired when we picked it up and I figured there can't be that much to a bimini. I've had several boats in my lifetime and they're not that are to figure out, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to collapse this one. It looks like everything is screwed in and I can't believe Harris would make a top that you had to have a screw driver handy to take down.

Unhook the back post from the rail. Fold them into the front post. Put the small arm down and reconnect in the back.

Look at the front and rear poles. They connect to the top rail at the chrome fitting. There should be a little square "button" on the chrome fitting. It actually slides in one direction. When you slide the button, it releases the poles, just pull upward on the pole when you slide the button as far as it will go

You just fold it up after that and use the very short poles on the rear poles to store it in the down position.

Sorry, I'm calling them poles but meant to stay square tubes.

Yep like they said. Push the button on the rear post fold up then let the small post rest on the rail and connect it to the latch your removed the real rail from

That button does slide, but mine gets locked in tight from time to time. Helps to have a tool or two when it does.

Glad you got your question answered! I have two biminis on my Harris. Another piece of advice is if they ever seem "stuck" and you can't pull them out...take a deep breath...push down gently on the square tube and then they will release. And don't forget to "jiggle" the square tubes to also help release a stuck tube. I have found that if you try to physically force them they wont release. Much better to treat them like a fine piece of china.

One other suggestion....after you have used your toon awhile check the screws on the main bimini bracket attached to the rail. One of mine actually came loose after the screws vibrated loose.
