63 degrees here today... hate to see summer go!
I usually enjoy the changing of the seasons... but this is our first summer with a pontoon boat! Really have enjoyed this summer... hate to see it go...
I was born here is shelbyville... we lived in Texas for a few years when I was little... moved back to middle Tennessee... joined the Marine Corps when I graduated high school... did four years second battalion third Marine regiment... when I got out I moved to San Diego, was never stationed in California... lived in San Diego and Temecula California for 8 years... then moved back to Tennessee to be with family...
Got married and we now have three children that we love and adore... have been the best times of my life.
Been to the lake a few times growing up... never really got into it... only been on a boat a hand full of times in my life... didn't know what I was missing!
Never realized how beautiful and enjoyable the lakes around here are... has been a great summer...
I was looking online at full pontoon enclosures... Lord willing we will have one before too long... could really extend the season here... camp on the boat and cruise the lake in the fall and spring...
Have learned a lot reading the threads on here... got a lot of my questions answered without even having to ask...
The other thing that I would really like to do to the boat next year is a pontoon waterglide... (going to add the underskin no matter what) but for what I want out of the boat and from all the reading that I have done... I think the waterglide is the way to go for us for a few reasons...
1. adds 684 lbs. floation to the boat...
2. will increase the speed of the boat when fully loaded... which is the main deciding factor... from what I have read, the 90hp motor won't get up on strakes when the boat is loaded and since our boat is maxed out with the 90hp... the waterglide should make a world of difference to our boat.
3. cost much less than adding a third pontoon... and from what I read the waterglide should perform better on our boat than the third pontoon because again we are limited with the 90hp motor...
4. should see a substantial increase in fuel economy.... let's face it... gas isn't getting any cheaper!.. and hopefully we will be able to ski with it... not a must... not even sure if I ever would... just want to have the option if we want to...

Hate to see it go also.
But am looking forward to seeing the leaf turning along the Tennessee River.

Blessed:
You are truly fortunate to live in Middle Tennessee and Shelbyville--God's Country. Just wait until the maple trees "turn" 4-6 weeks from now. I used to live close to you--in the mountains of Williamson County.
You can usually boat until November without a $4K full canvas enclosure. Just dress a little heavier and carry a blanket for the ladies.
I wouldn't hesitate to underskin any pontoon boat, but forget any additional floatation system--it doesn't work well.

Luckily I live in Southeast Texas, and this is my favorite time of the year. "Indian Summer" still warm but not hot and wont be cold for another month or two.
If you get that "thangy" let us know how it does! Enjoy Tennessee and post some pics of Cades cove for me!

Lower 70's this last weekend here. Had the sandbar all to ourselves and it sure did make for a peaceful weekend. But I did miss having some companionship to tilt a few cold ones with.

Yeah, looks like we will have only had the new toon out three times before we put it up.
On the bright side, when we put the boat up, I pull the motorcycles out. RIDING SEASON!!!
