650 bucks! that sounds like a great deal.....about a month or two back I thought I was going to have to take my boat out of a storage building and bring it home. I looked into a couple of local places that do custom boat covers and both estimates were between 1500 and 1600..... I was told the covers would be made out of sunbrella..... fortunately I was able to keep the boat in the storage building for now, so I can put this expense aside for awhile...

Looks good! And the price was right, too! I would like to get a bow/canopy enclosure , made for mine so we can get out in the winter months, until and just after the river freezes over, since its the only time I can get away from work. I've been looking at Craigslist, but no one in our area is that in-expensive. You got a great deal!

Thanks. We are pretty happy with it. She used umbrella material, all stainless snap, double stiched every seam and added padding to all the rub areas.

The bimini will be round aluminum with stainless hardware and umbrella.

She did the cover without the boat where she was sewing it? If she did, that was pretty good.

I sewed up my own cover and my materials were around $350. If she is only making $300, she is not making much for the time she has in it.

Did she use webbing along the entire edge of the cover where the snaps are? How is the cover attached in the front...snaps?

Here is the one I did. It is also Sunbrella

What did she do around your bimini poles? This is how I did mine with Velcro and snaps.

Looks good! Will it hold water or is it going to be under cover?

The first two photos show how she did the bimini cut outs. Next is the snaps and last is how she did corners. It is umbrella and as for rain, she included three poles an reinforced their location as well.

She saved money by using no webbing and not using Sunbrella binding so she was able to save money there.

Be careful with your snaps pulling the cover on and off.

Overall you still got a good deal. I would never make a cover for that price.

Ya, I don't know what kind of binding she used. As for the snaps, rather than using webbing, she folded the material back on itself and its four layers thick around the entire edge of the cover. All seams are double stitched on the entire cover.

That should be good enough then.

That's a really nice custom fit cover for a great price! I wish I could find someone like that around my area. The prices I got were anywhere from $1800 to $2200.
