ID Redux ... with pics

This is a upper power unit for a small out board.It has been laying around my garage for years, my wife threw away the crate in was in,no paper work. I would like to find out what kind of lower unit it will fit,was made in japan.

Sorry, never have seen one before. Try googling jap outboard pictures and one may come up. That's a small engine for sure.

It looks like it may be a 70's vintage Tohatsu (made in Japan). Google images as suggested and see what you can find. You can also post on old outboards forum.

Thanks , I did make a couple of searches but haven't hit on anything yet. From the coloring it looks like it could be a Johnson or Evinrude clone.
