Voyager tritoon with strakes

#1 Post by MerkFalc » Wed Dec 31, 2014 6:41 am

Hey guys, I'm hoping to add lifting strakes before the summer but can't seem to find a voyager with strakes. I have a 25' tritoon with a 225 mercury on it. After last season I noticed how much the bow digs in to the water and I'd really like to fix that. Should make it more efficient and hopefully pick up a little speed. Thanks

I found that one while looking but that's the only one with half strakes that I've ever seen. All the other manufactures have them going the full length of the pontoon so I wasn't sure how well they would work like that.

No problem, just buy more material and make them full length! I would rather them be full length also, I commented on that post back then about them being short.

I didn't think about contacting voyager directly, I'll give them a call next week. As for the back half strakes, seems like they would cause drag in any sort of waves or rough water. Plus, if it was a good idea I imagine manufacturers would be doing it by now

Any strake is gonna add drag if your not on plain, that just a givin! It has nothing to do with them being just on the back half of the tube.... All I'm saying is you can (and should) in my opinion use full length strakes, this guy just dident..

What I meant is that it seems like it would submarine a little with the strakes so far back. But I agree, why not just go all the way

Well factory strakes are out. $400 each plus some other costs then a deliver fee of $1.75/mile.
