Winter Boat Shows
I've been looking at the big bass fishermen website.
They're complaining about the boat shows being full of pontoons and tritoons--and it was mentioned that some even cost $75K. The boat shows don't have enough fishing boats that interest them.
I hate to say it, but the average bass boat's much more expensive than the average pontoon boat. And pontoon/tritoons are the only market segment of the boat business that's increasing in sales. Maybe those guys need to go find a "Fishng Show."

Re: Winter Boat Shows
I went to the Nashville show last weekend. I'm not in the market for a "fishing" boat, but I like to look. As you said, some of the prices are out of sight ! I did see a $72k toon I would like to have though (but I would never spend that on a toy). I don't remember the brand, but it was a tritoon with strakes with a supercharged 300.
It had a "runabout" type windshield and top.

Yes on the KC show. get in town Friday night and do the show on Saturday. not looking for a new boat but I do get a lot of my ideas for mods from the shows
Re: Winter Boat Shows
Can you tell us anything about market movement? I am thinking about heading over to the Detroit boat show (no worries we are a CWP state) this year for the first time in along while. The manufactures in Indiana will be ramping up for you all before then.zoom650 wrote:We're headed to the Atlanta Boat Show tomorrow. I'm sure I'll see lots to drool over this year! Re: Winter Boat Shows
First Mate and i spent the entire day today at the Atlanta Boat Show. There were lots and lots of 'toons with virtually every manufacturer represented with multiple models There were at least 4 toons with $100,000+ price tags and even boats with $! million list prices. I believe that there were far more toons than any other boat type with bass boats having the smallest representation. There were quite a few wakeboats over $100,000.
I believe the dual console mentioned above may be the new Crest Continential, which was at the Atlanta show. It had a removable fulll vinyl enclosure from the dual windshields to the stern. It was one beautiful rig.

That's it ! $72k @ the Nashville show. They said they sold 3 at the show.

Not sure if the pic will work for all (it's from Facebook)

Inflated market me thinks. Still it is discretionary income so ride the quantitative easing to 2.5 percent on purchase or take the 3.5 on a Vanguard.
Still have the Sea Ray Seville no matter what.

Re: Winter Boat Shows
Atlanta had a pretty good show. I saw that Crest with the enclosed helm. I liked it a lot.
The pontoons had a greatest presence, followed by center consoles. Well worth the trip!
Bass boats were wedged in there.

Re: Winter Boat Shows
Just put down $300 refundable deposit on a new Sweetwater 22' pontoon with Suzuki 115 at the Atlanta Boat Show. Might have to change my username if I trade in my old hand-me-down 18 footer and complete the purchase of the new one. They had some really expensive boats, and some good deals as well. Looking forward to test ride in a couple of weeks. Didn't take any pictures there but I can take some if I decide to go with it.
