South Bay Pricing
I've been boating now since 2005 with a Chaparall SSi215 cuddy, trading it on and joining the pontoon world. I'm looking at a 2015 South Bay 724E Deluxe with the 2.75 sport package, double bimini's, and mercrury 150hp, with a tandem axle mid american trailer......is a $60,000 out the door taxes and all.....offer too much........asking price is 65000 plus trailer and taxes.
Re: South Bay Pricing
I'm not an expert on pricing presently. I would suggest you investigate that brand on RVTraders.com.
Worse come to worse, call a couple of South Bay dealers selling the same boat and comparison shop.
The price sounds excessive to me. You can buy a Mercury 150 FourStroke less installation, controls and gauges for just over $10K.

Re: South Bay Pricing
No price is too high for a South Bay!
OK, maybe I got carried away a little. I think if you call 4 or 5 dealers and throw them a lower offer and then see how close they can get to your low offer, you'll start to zero on on the best buy.
IMO, they do make a great boat. We really love our 925 and have been impressed with the boat and the company. We did not even buy ours new, but South Bay has still been great to work with anytime we have had a question over our 5 years of ownership.
I'm sure others who have bought them new will chime in soon. Good luck, and enjoy the new boat!

Re: South Bay Pricing
That may actually be not too bad of a deal. I know the entertainment package boats cost a bit more than the simpler layouts.
Also, if you like the Southbay model don't limit yourself to just them. Xcursion and Berkshire are the EXACT same boat. If you have either of those dealers around then call them too.
Best advice I can offer is write down your exact list of options and shop it around. Bring the best price back to your dealer of choice and tell him to match.

I would agree that it's worth taking a little time to call other dealers and also ask about the Berkshire, and Xcursion. In the Forest River Marine line up, the Berkshire is at the top, followed by SouthBay and then Xcursion. They are all 3 made in the same factory, and basically the same overall construction but each with more gingerbread, and upgraded materials.
As a reference pointe...... We just took delivery ( Nov 2014) of our Berkshire 233 STS Series RFX model with their Performance 3 package ( full length center toon, SeaStar Hydraulic steering, 52 gallon fuel tank, center floor storage, SS tow bar, etc) with power steering, full length teak Vinyl, beefed up AMP and Subwoofer stereo, extra fill in seat for bow or stern, LED floor lighting, Dual batteries with charger, depth and water temp, a Yamaha F200 and some other upgrades. We ordered the boat. We don't need a trailer so I don'k know what those prices are these days...... The boat with accessories and motor, tax (on $8k as we had a trade) prep, delivery totaled just under $52k.
I was just lucky to time it right and Yamaha had a special last fall for 6 weeks that if you took delivery of several different model engines, they threw in an additional 3 years of full warranty.
Hope this helps a little....

Re: South Bay Pricing
catesmw, I wondered if you boated on Monroe. I grew up in southern IN and my love for boating comes from summer weekends from the '70's on Lake Monroe with my parents, brother, and an old aluminum Lone Star cabin cruiser. I love that lake and have hundreds of great, childhood memories there. Have fun with your new South Bay! It sounds like you've done your homework and don't let the analysis paralysis get the best of you.

Re: South Bay Pricing
Just realized I didn't contact anyone that far from me. 1000 miles was my cutoff. The most competitive dealer I could find north of the mason Dixon line though were these guys:
Bil Cooper
Glencove Marina
*Direct Office (573) 964-3425
bil@glencovemarina.com
They are on Lake of the Ozarks in MO. He got to a better price than anyone else I could find up that way by a long ways. I think they are a pretty big dealer and move a lot of volume so maybe that's why they are more aggressive with pricing. He offered me his best price and I told him it wasn't good enough. He then came down a bit more.
Good luck to ya!

Re: South Bay Pricing
just a thought but if you like the South Bay check out the Xcursions too... same builder just different name on the boat, probably a few different options too.. but pricing could be different too... I have an xcusion and buddy has an identical south bay, only difference is his has SB on the couches and mine has XC. But it may give you another option to look at comparable pricing closer to your home...
