LED lights installed under seats.

I installed lights around my seat bases that turned out great. I didn't want rope lighting and I wanted multi color so I pieced this system together. I mounted the lights to a piece of 3/4" aluminum with 3M automotive tape and bolted that to the seat bases so I could take them out if I ever have a problem. I thought that would be easier that taping them to the seat bases and an easy way to get them straight. You can not see the lights from sitting in the boat. The controller I used is an 18 amp, 12 volt controller with music control option and the lights are 100% submersible. Here are some pics.

I use aluminum to mount LED strip for places in my house. For my boat, I used the Klus extrusions. It's good to mount them on aluminum of some type because there is some heat generated and the aluminum helps the heat dissipate. I was going to mount mine low like that but didn't feel there was enough light being distributed across the floor.

Did you use waterproof LED strips?

The strips I used are advertised as having nanometer waterproof technology.

I mounted them at the floor so I didn't have to see them. The controller I got allows me to dim them or brighten them up to the point they're too bright.
