Anybody use Sea Legs

I'm interested the idea of sea legs anybody use them or something similar I hear they are not cheap

We had them installed on our new boat. They were $4500, but then we don't need a lift. We're liking them so far. You can see them in the pictures below.

They are nice I had mine installed when I bought it new. Its pricey for a Tri-toon I think it was $7500 installed. I like it for docking never have to tie to the dock and waves won't rock the pontoon also keeps the toons clean.

I like the idea, then I seen what happens when a storm rolls through and brings up 3' waves on the lake, quite a few pontoons "dumped over". Seen many popping up at salvage auctions with storm damage also since they got popular. If your on a bigger lake that can/will have some good wave action during a storm I'd feel safer with an actual lift and its wider footprint on the lake bottom. Just like a regular lift, Make SURE you get the boat/toon as high out of the water as you can before leaving it unattended, seen way too many sitting overnight with the tubes only 6" out of the water.

I was considering sea legs for my tri toon too, but I got to thinking... I paid extra to get the performance package with the underskinning on my boat and the sea legs would hang under that and catch the water, thus slowing me down... Plus I found a used lift for a lot less money...

Considered the same thing. Why go to the trouble of under skinning and then hang giant water catchers on the bottom. We've also got a soft mucky bottom at the dock and didn't think the sea legs would work they well sunk a foot into the muck.

Got the same problem... Sorta... I've got 40 feet under me in our slip and upwards of 200 feet out in the lake.... Think I should have bought more than 100 foot for the anchor line....

Mine didn't have skinning because of having the Sea Legs installed. I had a lot of noise from water hitting the cross members when going at faster speeds. I just installed the aluminum skin and now it is really quiet and I picked up 2 MPH so I don't think the Sea Legs really slow it down if it is skinned, the exterior of the Sea Legs when retracted is smooth aluminum and the front part of each leg is angled back.

I've had Sea Legs on my last 2 boats. Personally, I think they are great and I've never had an issue with them. Now that I've had them I wouldn't be without them. They're not cheap but either are good quality lifts. Plus this way you have a lift wherever you go and no heavy lifting every spring and fall. The wireless remote works great and its nice to be able to lift or lower your boat from the comfort of the captain's chair. Lots of positives and no negatives for me. It may affect performance slightly but that isn't a concern for me. It still goes plenty fast.
