I see a used one for sale for 40 bucks,,,14 or 15 inch I think. Does it get hot and do a good job of searing steaks? Thanks and happy boating !!

I would say no. I have a Magma kettle that weve had for 20+ years, it has been flawlesss, bit its really not hot enough to sear a steak properly. Maybe the larger ones will, but i suspect you can only get so much power out of the little Coleman tanks.

The small Magma does not get hot enough for a proper sear. You might check either Lowes or Home Depot for a portable grill, they both carry small stainless steel grills that are twin burner 20,000 btu units for around 100 bucks. Whats nice is both can use 20 lb LP tanks.
