New boat lift

#1 Post by smoker62 » Tue Jun 09, 2015 4:29 pm

Ordered a new 4500 # lift from MI and had it delivered to my work. Forklift unload onto my trailer and brought it 4 hrs north to my camper. Built it in about 3 hrs in my driveway. Loaded it on my utility trailer and had some friends help me with the launch. I used 4 55 gallon drums strategically strapped to the lift and floated it off the boat launch. Had my buddy who towed my toon over , launch that and we back trolled that beast into the resting spot. Lots of old timers with video waiting for a disaster but it went off pretty smooth. You can see the final resting place at pinecovebg.com, click on lake cam, enter guest and leave password blank. Use right button to look left , i dont know why, and you can see her resting with the grey canopy . Nice thing its live feed so I can check on my boat during the week LOL.

Awesome, looks like a nice lift. I wish we had a live feed to check on my boat. We just had a big wind storm blow through our lake again, lost lots of trees. Buddy was up there and said my boat on the lift was fine, his was tied to the dock in our so called sheltered bay and didn't fair so well, it decided to float away and take half the dock with it.

Great ideas to float it into place!

The straps go under the bottom fixed rail and then up to the lift cradle. You can adjust the depth of float by lowering the lift cradle. As it lowers the whole lift goes down . Makes it easy to adjust the legs because you can float it at what ever depth you need .
