Tilt/Trim limits or stop - Mercury 115 EFI

#1 Post by trucky » Mon Jun 22, 2015 11:47 am

On my 07 Bentley I can tilt the engine up so far that it makes contact with the crossbar above the batteries in the pic below. This has cracked the top of the plastic cowling and I usually remember to tilt and look until I get it right. I like to keep the prop out of the water when I'm not using the boat.

Is there any sort of trim or tilt limit that could be set to keep it from going up beyond a certain point?

My Verado has an upper tilt limit that I can set. Check your owners manual. If its like my Verado, its real easy. Just a dial. I'll try to take a pic of mine tomorrow so you can see if you have it or not.

my dealer had to install one on my boat, my boat was also delivered with a cracked cowling that was replaced under warranty. i think they broke it when they installed my tow bar
and ran the motor into the tow bar. see your dealer for the kit
