Running wire through the pontoon to the cockpit?

#1 Post by Colin » Tue Jun 30, 2015 1:16 pm

Im wiring in some LED lights that screw into the drain plugs on our pontoon and have wire coming off them. Im looking for something to seal the wire that runs through the pontoon and to the cockpit.
I cant seem to find anything that will work?

I see gland nuts, but their is non way to hold or get the nut on the inside to hold it nor am I sure where to order them. I can only find them on alibaba.

Any tips would be awesome! I dont want to silicone this expensive boat!!!

Thanks...Colin

I'm having trouble picturing those myself. Without any other info I'm hesitant to say anything other than "screwing something into the grain plugs other than the drain plugs scares the crap out of me!"

They are the black lights on this page, scroll down a little.

Very high quality but we have to run the wire up through the top of the pontoon to the dash and we want to make sure its properly done/sealed.

How bizarre! Obviously not meant for pontoons, but very interesting. :biggrin2

Yes Nice for fiberglass boats! My dad wanted me to find some type of gland wiring nut but for this application it might be tough because you wont be able to tighten the nut on the inside.....Back to the drawing board!
