Sorry to hear about the bad experience farmer. I hope that they are able to make it right for you. You should post the name of the dealer somewhere in the thread. Future tooners should know that they need to make sure to ask this dealer about cleaning the boat before delivery. The fact that they didn't clean the boat before delivery is unforgivable.

I was a first time owner when we bought our toon earlier this year. The dealer had their guy go out on the water with us and show us the basics. He even walked me through getting the boat on the lift for the first time. There was a minor problem and they have taken care of it so I have been happy with them.

My dealer was Smith Mountain Boat & Tackle in Penhook, VA. I'd recommend them to anyone. They rep Sylvan and Yamaha.

Yep! don't get me started!

Praise them when they do the right thing, but break a foot off in their ass when they try to scam you!

UPDATE!!!!

so i got an email today from the dealer. (im leaving there name out for a bit if they make this right ill be happy. if not ill share it all to you and all my other opinions on them and Manitou!)

Manitou has turned away from the sea grass snap in. Excuse is. each boat is built different and is built with the snap in carpet installed and might not fit properly if we were try to put it in a boat that wasnt built with it.

Manitou counter offer: they well send me 4 SS straps that have recessed holes for screws to cover up the spots.

MY answer sorry im not doing that to a brand new boat.. it well make it look like i did the Vinyl floor myself and screwed it up..

dealer went back to Manitou . the customer service rep is going to speak to the owners to see where to go from here. The customer service rep did tell me it shouldnt be a problem to put sea grass snap-in in the boat. and now hes back paddling. im interested in to see what comes up.

I dont know if i should suggest other options? i guess ill wait to see what they say.. Ill take other options that manitou offers if they are willing to put it on the table

Manitou update!

today i contacted the dealer to see whats up.

she said Manitou said they well now do the snap in sea grass. they are going to get it made.

also i got a new Bimini frame out of them. this one was shipped and has chafe marks on it. all over it. they say its from factory, i say its from the dealer not doing a proper PDI.

all thats left is the nose cones on the tubes. there is a point on all 3 on the bottom of them. its sharp. it shouldnt be there. im waiting to hear back what they wanna do with that. ITs not safe for the kids or anyone to swim around.

They told me its the salt water package. that the leading edge is different then the trailing edge. (ok, i think thats fine but what dumb A** would leave a sharp point.) ill try to get you a picture a picture tomorrow..

i told them its not safe. so i'm waiting to hear back to what they say.

Manitou is regaining there integrity with me slowly but they are.

SOO, ill have to say Manitou Steped up. :biggrin2 :biggrin2

I dropped the sea grass idea as i know id never use it. . so i asked them if they would send me their optional steering wheel and a BBQ. and they did. I know its less then the sea grass option. but Im happy. The Bimini top is going to be sent to the dealer on there next load of boats which well be in the fall.

someone asked me a while back who the dealer was.

It was Whiterock Outboard outside of Portland Maine. they are very easy to deal with. they worked with me on this issue. i would however if you are to purchase a new boat from ANY dealer or ANY brand of boat make sure you realy check it over. some of these issues i have had could have been avoided quite easily.
