Hi all!!!
got the boat out this weekend.. and what a dream. ever sense i oedered i was have had cold feed from switching to a pontoon from a Vhaul.
SO i have a 175 suki on it. and the dealer supplied me a prop. 15 1/4 by 17 pitch.. which isnt enough prop for the boat it well play with it. 6300 is redline. roughly 30mph
dealer said i can to exchanges till i get it right. totall 2 thumbs up to them for this!!!
BAD NEWS ......... i smoked a rock this weekend

first time in 4 years. and it was just me not paying attention. talking to friends and i was about 20 feet from where i should have been.
The Question::::: who do you guys order your props from. def wont get to exchange this one.. Solas rubex SS too..
I realy dont wanna to go back to Aluminium but also dont want to change taking the bottom end out.
Im stepping up to a 21. i had my old 21 on it today, and i still could get it to redline. but that prop is in bad shape. she has bumped a few rocks and sandy bottoms over the years.

What was your WOT with that prop?
For every changed pitch, it'll increase/decrease the WOT 200 rpm.
I had a Solas 19 pitch at 4800 RPM WOT on my Yamaha 115 so I bought a Solas from Iboat 13 pitch prop and hit 6k RPM at WOT which is what the mfr calls for.

Something does not seem correct, a 17 pitch prop should be plenty for a 175. A 21P prop seems way out of the ball park for a 175. Are you sure your Tach is reading correctly? Also, propgods.com lets you try out props for a $35 fee. If you like it, then you can buy it.
Just for reference, I have almost 325HP and I am running a 17P prop, I am over my suggested RPM's at WOT by about a couple hundred RPM. I am stepping up to a 19P prop. Something seems out of whack on your numbers. Your speed, WOT rpm's and Pitch just are not making sense. If you are redlining with the 21P, then you should have hit your rev limiter on the 17P easily. Your motor should not be pushing your 21P to redline, not even the 17P. Talk to Ken at propgods, call him, he will help you.

actually a 17 pitch isn't out of the ballpark for a Suzuki, Zuki's run a MANLY gear ratio.
With a 2.50 gear ratio these are the speeds I'd roughly expect @ 6000rpm @ 10% slip (good stainless or 4 blade aluminum should come close with a lighter load)
17 pitch = 34.7 mph
18 pitch = 36.8 mph
19 pitch = 38.8 mph
20 pitch = 40.9 mph
21 pitch = 43.0 mph
What are the actual GPS speeds your hitting with which props? I see you said roughly 30 mph with a large diameter 17 pitch so that's roughly a 25% prop slip which is pretty bad for a tritoon, even with an aluminum prop.
Looking at your toon/motor combo I would think it would come close to 38-40mph with a light load and a 15"+ diameter 19 Stainless is where I would start.

Thanks for educating me on the Susuki's

I still don't understand how he is not hitting the rev limiter with a 17P prop then if he is redlining with a 21P?

Thanks for the Info.
I honestly couldn't tell you what my out drive ratio is.
but i decided to order a 16x19. im hoping that should help my problems.
i don't have a exact speed where i didn't have my chartplotter with me.. 46km is what my phone told me with the 14.5x17pitch.
ill have the 19 here this week so ill keep you posted this weekend.
Have to say im hooked on these pontoon boats now

so got to run the boat this weekend.
30 gallons of fuel onboard, just me. fairly calm night.
42MPH with the 19X16 prop. im happy with that..
seems to have a fair mount of pull to get out the hole still too with 5 adults and 3 kids and a god on board.. i did not see what my top speed was then. ill probably check this weekend.

The Suzukis don't have a direct drive shaft from the engine into the lower unit. There's a reduction gear that slows the prop down.
And because of the slow propeller, they run a large diameter, very high pitch prop.
They're just a different animal.

NICE, what's the RPM's showing at WOT? looks like you got a pretty "stiff pitched" 19 that showing very little/no slip. My Turbo Stainless 14x13 is the same way, my numbers come out to only a 4% slip with that prop with a light load. Also what brand prop did you get? I'm hanging my DF140 soon in place of Johnzuki DF70 and I'm researching props right now.

UPDATE:
so i had about 5-7 gallons of fuel onboard. just me and my boy, i kicked the dog off.
I figureed it could take some more trim

44.2MPH top speed 6100 rpm.
I bet i could gain another mile by putting the bimini into road position instead of Radar. plus open some doors.
there is one other manitou on my lake. im told he can get 45mph. im hoping to meet up with him sompoint this summer just to find out. his boat is in the shop at the moment. the snow collapsed his barn and crushed alot of his fence.
