I've been giving this a lot of thought. My first thought was to find a 2 burner weber grill on craig's list and rebuild it,but something like that just takes up too much room.
So I started researching portable propane grills man there is one sh**load of portables!....That being said I quickly realized the vast majority of them are under powered 10 or 12,000 btu's just aren't enough. Couple that with the fact I hate 2lb propane bottles the field got considerably smaller.

Here is the criteria I came up with for the grill I'm buying. Minimum of 20,000 btu's ( My opinion of the power nessacary to properly sear a steak.) Large enough grilling area to cook for 6, 250 sq in or more. Ability to use a 20 lb bottle. Enamel , stainless or cast grates and some type of flavorizer bars. Both of the big box stores carry several portables that fill the bill. Cuisinart and Brinkman are at the top of my list currently with the more expensive Cuisinart in the lead.

Hope this helps you in your buying decision good luck and good grilling.

Works for me, using a rod mount. I have fishing pole holders mounted around the toon so I can move the grill as needed.

Check this one out. I have one my toon and love it. I purchased an extra pedestal like youuse for your table. Mounted the packet to the bottom of the grill the other bracket to the deck. When I want to grill all I do is place the pole into the bracket and set the grill on top. It uses a regular 20 pound cylinder which is great.
I cooked burgers, dogs and steaks on it no proble,.

I have had a West Marine branded Magma since 2006, zero issues. Would buy the same one again.

I really like the one I got from SAMs. It was only 100.00 and what I
like most is it uses a regular tank. Don't have to worry about those Samall cans running out. Plus I can use it on the toon or off if beached and set it on a table. Plenty of room for dogs, burgers or steaks.

I have a round Magma on one boat and a rectangular Kuuma on another.

The Kuuma is the better grill.
