and now we flood

#1 Post by katieclooney » Mon Jul 20, 2015 7:39 pm

We had a lot or rain lately. Lake levels are up. We have drop piers at our marina and my neighbors is now underwater....a lot.
Mine is just above water.
Our piers are really tall to the point we dont use them to get into our boat. With the high water i can now use them

We are having the same problem in Northern Indiana
some of the lakes up here are restricted to idle speed only
I have to go under a bridge to get out of our channel and i only cleared the bridge by about a inch or so
forecast is 7 days with no rain hopefully that will help, we have had rain almost every day for the past 6 weeks or so

I don't know whats worse, I haven't made it to the lake up here in northern Saskatchewan for a couple weeks but my neighbour up there called me tonight to tell me the lake is down enough that he doesn't think we will be able to get the boat off the lift next weekend. I'm not really sure what I'm planning to do to rectify my problem, maybe strap the lift to the boat and hope I can get enough reverse power to drag the lift deeper into the lake... I really don't know...

People about a month ago were having issues with the low levels and not being able to get off their lifts.
And now we are flooding.
A portion of the waterway is under a No Wake restriction already. :donno

Lake levels have been up here in southeast Texas. But are slowly receding, we don't complain about the extra water here unless folks are getting their shorts wet. It's way better than the alternative.

If I may make a suggestion. I would lower those bumpers must a bit. Make them hit the side of the rub rail and the tube or you will rub the paint off your fence and run a chance of popping one of the bumper up and out of place to do any good,,,
And your neighbor's are REALLY high !!!
