Need help, new regency 220dlx. Cavatating and tilt issue

I have a 115 mercury with a 15 X 15 and turn 5100 at 27mph(alone). You are over prop'd just as I am. Your 17P is way too big. You need a 14 or 15 to get the RPM's up.

I would agree with you and thought about purchasing one on my own but after Tracker emphatically tells me that they spent countless hours on R&D and I have the right prop. I'm going to make them make it right.

I may just do it myself to prove my point!

Ask them which east Asian slum-hole they outsourced there R&D to. I'm betting Dog'gong China?
15" prop on 22' toon with a Merc 90 FS.

Let me first preface by assuming you have a 2.38 gear. IMO, some variety of a 13" is going to be the right prop for that motor and boat. My 21' Merc 90 FS came with a 13.75" x15P 3-blade Black Max prop and is the perfect prop for my straked boat with 5 or more on board. For a NON straked boat of similar size with the same motor, I will ASSume that it anything bigger than that would be too big, for a boat that plows through the water. I have gone through several props to find the best performing for 2-4 on-board and determined that a 13.5" x 16P stainless, works best.

As I mentioned in another post, IMO, RPM is king if you want the best possible performance AKA speed. Merc 90 FS has a MAX RPM of 6000. That motor should have a prop that allows a WOT RPM of around 5800 RPM or so with 2-4 on-board. As you guys have found, a 15"...

I will make another blind ASSumption. Maybe Tracker is over-propping boats in order to keep the engine RPMs down in order to reduce warranty costs. Thats the only rational reason I can pull out of you know where for all of this insanity. Again, IMO, you should be looking at a 13" prop.

Well its been 2.5 weeks since I sent the letter. I also took the Tracker survey on the same day I sent the letter (nothing good to say). Survey asked if I would like to be contacted by a representative. ...I said yes.
No phone call to date! My dealer said they called him about the letter, and I gave him a copy. I WILL NEVER BUY A TRACKER PRODUCT AGAIN! A simple phone call with some interest could have avoided this. I have never seen anything like this before, a company that absolutely doesn't care about the consumer. Ridiculous to say the least.

Propping and reducing RPM on the engine won't do anything for Tracker's warranty costs. Engine warranty is covered by Mercury, while Tracker is eating a lot of costs right now from the rigging FUBAR on this boat.

I ended up getting Mercury involved, I was told by one of their engineers that many owners are complaining about not being able to reach optimal rpm's at WOT on 2015 90HP CT tracker pontoons.

So now I wait to see what the resolution is as Mercury has to rule out the possibility of any prop manufacture errors in the prop Tracker claims is the right one.

Initially the engineer I spoke with recommended that I go with a 15x15P, stated a 15x13 would over rev the engine.

Reading this, I am somewhat surprised that they would put a 15 x15 on a 115. Of course I do not know the gear ratio so I may be way off base..lol I run a 12 p x 13.5 stainless Powertech on my 115 Yamaha and turn 5800 at WOT. That 15 x15 is a lot of wheel to turn for a 115

So now Tracker wanst to raise the Motor by one hole, Sounds to me like their throwing on the Band-Aids.

I'm wondering if by doing this, what will the side effects be...........

I would imagine that raising the motor will create some cavitation and raise rpms...good luck!

So my dealer approached me about the mooring cover that is leaking all over my boat. This is a factory Regency $875 cover and also doesn't cover the front of the carpet nor the rear swim platform. They said they would exchange it for a Tumac mooring cover that is waterproof and will cover the front and back platforms.....for an additional $550!!!
Tracker has never responded to my 11page letter, so I called them. They said nothing they can do about the razor sharp latch that cut a girls hand, and the cover would need to be paid for at the dealer....I never got to the other things on the list because I was sooo heated. May be time for an attorney. DO NOT BUY A REGENCY, it like buying a Cadilac that has been designed by Yugo!

Your prices mentioned on the mooring cover are more fair than the $1500 cover that comes with every Bennington.

We're so sorry that you've had so many problems with your boat and with your dealership. Things shouldn't be so difficult. As far as I'm concerned, it's really up to the dealer to get your boat equipped with the correct prop and operating at 100% efficiency. And with $550 stainless props, you just cannot throw more and more sizes at the problem.

Some dealers know how to setup boats, and some just don't.

I do know my manufacturer's customer service department knows what props work best on every size boat with every engine combination that they sell.

Never gave the dealer an answer on the mooring cover, but he knew I was pissed about it. When I went today to remove my boat from the slip, he called me in. He said he would order the cover at no charge for me. At least one of my many issues has been solved.....now for the rest. I was tempted to lemon law it.
