Bennington camper enclosure

#1 Post by Emsflyer84 » Fri Oct 02, 2015 8:45 am

Hey all, just a question... Anyone have any experience on a camper enclosure with a Bennington? The factory offers a full enclosure, but no half enclosure because of issues securing it at the bottom. The local canvas shop claims they can make one, but I don't know that they won't have the same issues. Any thoughts on that or how the canvas can be secured? Thanks!

I have had 1/2 enclosure on all my previous pontoons and had no issues at the bottom front. Both utilized "snap fast" fasteners and they work extremely well. Winnisquam Marine made my 1/2 enclosure on my previous Premier and this is the attachment method they used. No issues even at WOT in heavy winds. I believe I had 4 fasteners total along the bottom edge, 2 on each 1/2 curtain.

Thanks Dan, where were the attachment points at the bottom of the front curtain? The floor?

Yes and they do NOT get in the way at all. I initially thought they would but I didn't even know they were there.

Thanks again Dan, you've been very helpful. Winnisquam picked up our trade this morning, deposit left on the Bennington! You don't happen to have any pictures of that enclosure of yours, do you?

Unfortunately I do not....Winnisquam should still have my previous Premier with the half curtain on their lot unless they sold it recently. Ask them to look at it.

Were you able to get the extended warranty out of them?

Congrats on the new boat!

I did, got 3 extra years on the engine thrown in, we're pretty happy with the deal. Boat should be at the dealer early December for us to view! Pretty excited... I mentioned I had talked to you as well, sounds like you all have a pretty good relationship!

So, another question... Do you store your boats with Winnisquam seeing they are not on Winni? If so, how does that work out for you? Thanks!

Yes they store my pontoon and have done work on my other boats. It works out great! They have multiple places to access Wiini so it's no big deal at all. They are very careful with pontoons when storing. They know how to do it and I have never had as much as a single scratch on any of my boats they have stored.

I am glad it all worked out for you!
